2008 Pinot Noir

Vineyard Information
The grapes for the 2008 Pinot Noir came from some of our best Pinot Noir vineyards. Our Circle K Ranch in Lodi produced excellent fruit due to the mild weather in 2008. This Pinot Noir is blended with 20% of Syrah, which hails from our coastal vineyards in Monterey County.
Winemaking
Harvested during the cool mornings in Sacramento County and the Central Coast, the grapes were brought into the winery at a cool 55 degrees. After a brief cold soak, the grapes were then sent to tank for an eight day fermentation. The wine was aged in American and French oak upright tanks for six months to add complexity and round out the tannins
Tasting Notes
This Pinot Noir is rich with berry and cherry fruit. The wine starts with hints of green tea and mint, and leads to flavors of violets and toasty oak flavors. A smooth silky texture and mild tannins make this wine a savory pairing with turkey, roast chicken, baked ham and fresh pastas
