2005 Merlot

2005 Merlot

Vineyard Information

The grapes for this bottling were sourced from vineyards in the Sacramento County and Lodi region (San Joaquin County) and from vineyards along California's Monterey coast. The blend contains 17% Cabernet Sauvignon for added complexity and structure.

Winemaking

After a 10-day fermentation, the wine was aged in American and French oak uprights to add texture and roundness.

Tasting Notes

This wine exhibits delicious aromas of bright red cherry and sweet black plums with notes of spice, tea, and vanilla. Medium-bodied on the palate with bright cherry and black fruits, the wine is supported by soft, supple tannins. A delicious wine with lamb, beef, pork, grilled salmon, roast chicken, and pastas.
